Crankshaft / Camshaft Position Sensor (CKP)
What It Does:
The Crankshaft Position Sensor is required by the computer to locate the
crankshaft position which is used by the computer for ignition timing and fuel injection
timing control.
Location: The Crankshaft Position Sensor may be located behind the harmonic balancer, on
the front of the crankshaft, inserted into the transmission bell housing or directly into the
engine block at the crankshaft level.
Failure Symptoms: Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) illumination, engine no-start/no-spark
condition, occasional cylinder misfire, engine die-out or no-start after extended driving
condition with an engine re-start after a cool down period.

Que hace:
La computadora requiere el sensor de posición del cigüeñal para ubicar la posición del cigüeñal que utiliza la computadora para la sincronización del encendido y el control de sincronización de la inyección de combustible. Ubicación: el sensor de posición del cigüeñal puede ubicarse detrás del equilibrador armónico, en la parte delantera del cigüeñal, insertado en la carcasa de la campana de la transmisión o directamente en el bloque del motor a nivel del cigüeñal. Síntomas de falla: iluminación de la luz indicadora de mal funcionamiento (MIL), condición sin motor / sin chispa del motor, falla ocasional del cilindro, apagado del motor o no arranque después de una condición de conducción prolongada con un arranque del motor después de un período de enfriamiento.
