Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP)
Location:
Camshaft Position Sensors can be located on the cylinder head, valve cover,
timing case cover, or on a drive housing protruding from the engine block.
The Camshaft Position Sensor is an input to the engines computer system or
ignition control module. The Cam Sensor locates the position of the camshaft for proper
ignition firing and fuel injector firing sequence. The sensor is also required by the computer
for proper cylinder misfire identification.
Failure Symptoms: Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) illumination, failed emission test,
engine no-start condition, poor fuel economy

Ubicación:
Los sensores de posición del árbol de levas se pueden ubicar en la culata, la tapa de la válvula,
cubierta de la caja de distribución, o en una caja de transmisión que sobresale del bloque del motor.
El sensor de posición del árbol de levas es una entrada al sistema informático del motor o
Módulo de control de encendido. El sensor de leva localiza la posición del árbol de levas para un correcto
encendido por encendido y secuencia de encendido por inyector de combustible. El sensor también es requerido por la computadora
para una correcta identificación de falla del cilindro.
Síntomas de falla: iluminación de la luz indicadora de mal funcionamiento (MIL), prueba de emisión fallida,
condición de arranque del motor, bajo consumo de combustible
